The Palestinian Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister, Dr. Mashhour Abu Daqqa, visited Wataniya Mobile's headquarters in Ramallah today and followed up on the latest developments in the Company. Wataniya Mobile is the newest mobile phone operator that has launched its services recently.
Dr. Abu Daqqa was accompanied by senior delegates, including Deputy Minister Suleiman Al-Zuhairi, and a number of Directors. The visitors were welcomed by Allan Richardson, the Company's CEO; Marwan Al Muhaisen, Marketing and Sales Senior Director; Eng. Jamal Yassin, Technical Senior Director; and Dr. Samer Fares, the Company's Legal Council.
Wataniya Mobile's representatives updated Minister Abu Daqqa, and the Ministry's representatives about the latest developments after 45 days of the Company's launch. The two delegates discussed future cooperation between the Company and the Ministry in various fields.
Minister Dr. Abu Daqqa said, "The launch of Wataniya Mobile was a long and exhausting mission, we consumed a lot of time to reach the accomplishment and to initially liberate the Palestinian telecommunications market from monopoly. We see this step as an important turning point that Palestinian citizens witnessed, both in service quality and competitive prices. We hope that these efforts will continue and that Wataniya Mobile occupies a good and competitive position in Palestine, and benefit the Palestinian citizens. Dr. Abu Daqqa added, "We trust that Wataniya Mobile will continue its contribution as a leading mobile telephony operator in the Palestinian Market".
Minister Abu Daqqa was updated on Wataniya Mobile's primary needs related to building the Company's network in the West Bank and expressed his readiness, as well as the Ministry's readiness, to help by conducting awareness sessions about telecommunications in Palestine, as well as facilitating the communication between Wataniya Mobile and the public sectors in Palestine.
The Minister gave a brief about the Ministry's latest development concerning the latest development on the mail post system that the Ministry launched last Monday. In addition, the Minister welcomed any future cooperation between Wataniya Mobile and the Ministry of IT and Telecommunications.
In addition, the Minister offered a detailed explanation about the Ministry's future plans, the Palestinian Telecommunications Regulations Committee, and the various initiatives that the Ministry will implement in the near future and Wataniya Mobile's chances in engaging in such initiatives.
Wataniya Mobile's representatives introduced the delegates to the trained team working at Wataniya Mobile, as well as the latest technologies the Company has in the field of Telecommunications, which the Company brought to Palestine in order to provide the Palestinians with the best technologies in this field.
The Ministry's delegates had a tour in the Customer Care Center that operates night and day to meet all the needs of the Company's customers and were introduced to the training that Customer Care and service center employees took, so they can offer the Palestinian customers the best services in customer care.
Furthermore, the delegates had a tour in the Company's various departments, followed up on the developed products, and met those who work on distributing the Company's products and services in Palestine, and sensed the actual development that Wataniya Mobile is working continually to achieve and to have its products and services in all the Palestinian areas. In addition, the delegates were introduced to the services that Wataniya Mobile offers, both directly and indirectly, to its customers and the company's interest in having a role in social responsibility and in cooperating with the society in the health, education, and sports sectors, as well as its interest in being one of the economical pillars that helps the Government in reducing unemployment through the Company's partners commitment in offering the Palestinian people all that it deserves in this field.
